Internal oil blockage may occur in the motorcycle crankcase, but it is usually caused by improper maintenance rather than spontaneous failure. Here are the key points:
1、 Blocking the core causes
Long term use of inferior engine oil
Mineral oil impurities deposit to form sludge, which hardens after mixing with metal debris and blocks the oil supply channel of the crankshaft bearing.
The expired engine oil oxidizes and coking, adhering to the turning point of the oil passage in the casing (such as the cylinder head return oil hole).
Sealing failure and contamination intrusion
The air filter is damaged or the crankcase ventilation pipe is broken, and dust/sand particles enter with the airflow and mix with the engine oil to form a grinding paste.
After the cylinder gasket is pierced, the coolant seeps in and the emulsified engine oil clogs the filter screen.
2、 Block high-risk areas
Oil suction filter: The metal filter of the oil pan is covered with gum, causing a sharp drop in the suction efficiency of the oil pump (symptom: flashing idle oil pressure light).
Main oil passage cross hole: The internal cross oil passage of the crankshaft is narrow, and carbon deposits block the oil supply to the connecting rod bearings (consequence: crankshaft locking).
Ventilation system: PCV valve oil sludge is stuck, causing an imbalance in air pressure inside the box, resulting in oil seal splashing and leakage.
3、 Key preventive measures
Oil Product and Cycle Control
Fully synthetic engine oil is given priority, and the use of unknown and miscellaneous brand oil is strictly prohibited.
Violent driving or old vehicles can shorten the oil change cycle by 30%.
Targeted cleaning
During each unboxing and maintenance, use carburetor cleaning agent to spray the oil passage holes (limited to metal pipes, rubber parts need to be isolated).
Add ester oil circuit cleaner every 3 oil change cycles (filter element needs to be replaced simultaneously).
4、 Emergency fault identification
Early signs: abnormal valve noise during cold start (delayed establishment of oil pressure), constant low-speed oil lamp on.
Deterioration symptoms: White smoke is emitted from the crankcase breathing port and the oil pressure gauge is reset to zero.
Forbidden operation: Do not use high-pressure air guns to forcefully pass through oil passages! May cause impurities to jam the bearing shell.
